First off, I like to thank the individual employed at the VDR for giving this old Soldier a hand in purchasing fireworks during my 4 July 2014 trip to Vernon. I can'trecall his name, but I haven't forgotten his gratitude. One thing I do remember about Vernon during my last trip was the number of buisnesses which consistently stated " We support Our Troops". This leads me to my next question. How many buisnesses in Vernon actually observe Veterans Day? If so, how do these buisnesses observe Veterans day ie close for the day or provide something in return for freedom. Lastly, does the Vernon ISD observe Veterans day by no school like many other school districts? My children always stay home with this Soldier on Veterans day. Veterans remembered...
