James Franklin Dillard

   Funeral services for James Franklin Dillard, 68 of Vernon, who died on Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, in Wichita Falls, will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Toby Castleberry and Rev. Tom Long. Interment will be held at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
   Dillard was born Wednesday, Feb. 27, 1946 in Vernon. He was the son of the late B.A. Dillard and the late Catherine Dodson Dillard. He married Valerie Jackson on Dec. 26, 1992 in Vernon. He was a graduate of Vernon High School in 1964. He attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University on a football scholarship in 1970s. He worked for Moore Cotton Company in the early 1980s He went to work for Jim Christanelli Ford and later Vernon Auto Group as sales manager & fleet manager until his retirement in February of 2014. He was a member of United Way Board of Directors and Hillcrest Country Club Board of Directors. He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he drove the church bus.
   He is survived by his wife, Valerie Dillard of the home; one son, Patrick Dillard of Plano; one daughter, Jamie Jimboy of Moore, Okla.; one stepdaughter, Katrina Gregory of Hallsville; one sister, Mary Enna Scheuerman of Chula Vista, Calif., and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Dillard.
   Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014 at Sullivan Funeral Home.
   Memorials can be made to American Heart Association or First United Methodist Church of Vernon.
