Clara Mae Bell

   Clara Mae Bell, 92, of Vernon, died on Sunday, May 31, 2015 in Vernon. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 5, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Long officiating. Interment will be at Crowell Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
   Bell was born on Friday, June 9, 1922 in Margaret. She was the daughter of the late Arthur C. Phillips and the late Mary Abston Phillips. She married Raymond A. bell on May 12, 1939 in Margaret. He preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 1997. She had lived in Vernon since 1958. She was owner and operator of the Curly Q Beauty Shop for 41 years. She was a charter member and past president of the Wilbarger General Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She was president of the Thalia Ex-Student Association. She was a member of the Vernon Business and Professional Women’s Association, receiving the Woman of the Year award. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
   She is survived by her son, Kenneth Bell of Denver City, Texas; two daughters, Carolyn Thomas of Vernon and Lynette Samuel of Wichita Falls; 11 grandchildren, 21, great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
   Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Sullivan Funeral Home.
   Memorials may be made to the Wilbarger General Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.
