Three dead in Jackson County accident on Thursday

A Fatality Collision occurred Thursday 02.06.2025 at approximately 13:47 p.m. near the intersection of US-62 and South County Road 194, 3 miles east of Duke, Oklahoma in Jackson County.

Multiple people were killed and an 8-year-old boy was hospitalized following the Thursday afternoon wreck. An unidentified 8-year-old  boy was flown to United Regional Medical Center in Wichita Falls, Texas, where he was admitted in critical condition with trunk injuries, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Vehicle-1:  2021 Ford Expedition, driver name withheld pending identification.

Passenger-1:  Name withheld pending identification.

Vehicle-2:  2018 Ford Focus driven by Landreth J. Emswiler, white male, 36 years of age, residence in Mountain Park, Oklahoma.  Pronounced deceased at the scene by Medical Examiner Brook Stranahan and transported to the Medical Examiner’s office in Oklahoma City.

Passenger-1:  Juvenile female (name withheld), white female, 17 years of age, residence in Mountain Park, Oklahoma.  Pronounced deceased by the Medical Examiner and transported to the Medical Examiner’s office in Oklahoma City.

Passenger-2:  Juvenile female (name withheld), white female, 11 years of age, residence in Mountain Park Pronounced deceased by the Medical Examiner and transported to the Medical Examiner’s office In Oklahoma City.

Passenger-3:  Juvenile male (name withheld), white male, 8 years of age, residence in Mountain Park, Oklahoma.  Transported by Survival Flight to United Regional Medical Center and admitted in critical condition with trunk internal injuries.

What happened:  Under investigation.
