Douglas Kurt Haseloff

September 21, 1967 – January 21, 2026

Douglas Kurt Haseloff was born in Wichita Falls, Texas and
passed away on Jan. 21, 2026. He was a lifelong resident of
Vernon, Texas and a graduate of Vernon High School, class of
1986. He was raised in the Lockett community and spent his
adult life in both Lockett and Vernon.
Doug shared his life with Brenda Newberry and together
they had one son, Je൵ rey Paul Haselo൵ ; and one step-daughter,
Sarah Beth Hampsten (Jake), and granddaughter, Jaci Lynn.
Doug worked in a variety of roles, including the family farm,
Karcher’s Farm Store, and the Vernon Auto Group.
He spent time in junior college in both Vernon and Lubbock
at South Plains College. Doug’s early faith was formed at Peace
Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and con¿ rmed. Doug and Brenda attended
Calvary Baptist Church.
Doug was known for his kindness, joy, and quick wit. He had a gift for perfectly
timed humor and brought joy to those around him. He especially loved riding his Harley
Davidson motorcycles, taking trips to Colorado, a pilgrimage to Sturgis, SD with
Wombat, and road trips with Brenda to Ruidoso, New Mexico.
Since a leg amputation in 2023, Doug’s gang of support included Joe Richie, Scott
Dickerson, and Rick Lambert. He was so appreciative of this Harley-crew that he could
hardly stop saying, “Thank you!”
He is survived by Brenda, Je൵ rey, Sarah Beth; his mother, Kay Haselo൵ of Memphis,
TN; his brother, Greg Haselo൵ (Jennifer) of Wilmore, KY; his sister, Kerry Haselo൵ –
Park (Geo൵ ) of Memphis, TN; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Pecos.
He was preceded in death by his father, Travis Karl Haselo൵ , and siblings, Je൵ rey
Kent Haselo൵ and Elizabeth Kay Haselo൵ .
Memorial Service: March 14 in the First Methodist Church Chapel, Vernon:
• Greeting Family: 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.
• Celebration of Life: 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
• Food/Storytelling: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. (Location – TBD)
