QUANAH – Billy Scott Mullins, 83, of Quanah died on Thursday, July 24, 2014 in Quanah. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Holland and Rev. Monte Lumpkin officiating. Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Quanah.
Mullins was born Nov. 29, 1930 to the late Emmitt and Ruth Williams Mullins. He married Bettie Carroll June 6, 1954 in Quanah. He worked for Georgia Pacific for 43 years retiring in 1993. He was a resident of Quanah most of his life. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served as an usher.
He is survived by his wife, Bettie Mullins of Quanah; a daughter, Becky Nieves of Abilene; a sister, Dorothy Barnes of Vernon; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to First United Methodist Church or Quanah Senior Citizen Center.
The family visitation will be at Smith Funeral Home, Friday, July 25, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
