George “Bruce” Hergenrader

   George “Bruce” Hergenrader passed away on Nov. 5, 2014 after a brave battle with cancer. He had been a resident of Amarillo since 2008 and was a former resident of Abilene.
   Bruce was born April 4, 1924 in Lincoln, Neb.  to George and Elizabeth Hergenrader. He was a Lieutenant in the U.S.  Air Force and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Abilene.
   His first wife, Marianne Zeigler Hergenrader, preceded him in death in 1992. He married Virgie Owen Suttle in 1994 in Story, Wyo.
   Bruce is survived by his wife Virgie of Amarillo; son, Geoff and wife Alice Hergenrader of Santa Fe, N.M.;  daughter, Elizabeth and husband Gary Agnew of Billings, Mon,; two sisters, Lois Beavers of Elm Creek, Neb. and Bess Barello of Seattle, Wash.; two step-sons, Jerry Owen of Amarillo, and  Bill Owen and wife Patti of Amarillo; nine grandchildren, 20 great- grandchildren and nine great- great- grandchildren.
   Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014 at Eastview Cemetery in Vernon, under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home, and officiated by Merl Klink.
   Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday Nov. 7, 2014 at the funeral home.
