Evelyn Barnes Daniel

   Evelyn Barnes Daniel, 74 of Vernon, died on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, in Vernon. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014 at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home. Officiating will be Sandra Elms.
   Evelyn was born Wednesday, Oct. 2, 1940 in Denton. She was the daughter of the late James Fred Barnes and the late Muriel Buffington Barnes. She had lived most of her life in Vernon She worked as a home health worker and ran her own day care “Kiddie Korner” for many years. She was a homemaker and a member of Westside Baptist Church.
    She is survived by two daughters, Carla Branin of Vernon and Kathy Lee of La Marque; two grandsons, Joe Daniel Adams and Jerry Kyle Adams; three granddaughters, Kye Whitney Johnson, Amanda Michelle Davis and Emily Danielle Poindexter; three great-grandchildren, Kylan Kaye Raymos, Saydi Raelyn Adams and Lakyn Jaye Johnson; two brothers, Fervil Barnes of Arnett, Okla., and Kenneth Barnes of Crowley; three sisters, Shirley King, Reba Barnes and Lynn Garrett, all of Vernon; best friend, Deloris Caldwell of Vernon; special friend and caretaker, Toni Vargas of Vernon; son-in-law, Paul Poindexter of Vernon.
   She was preceded in death by her daughter, Christy Poindexter on Dec. 16, 2012, and two sisters Merlene Byars and Betty Farthing.
   Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014 at Sullivan Funeral Home.
   Memorials can be made to American Cancer Society or Wilbarger County Humane Society.
   Pallbearers will be Jerry Ray King, Donnie King, Jr., Eddie Barnes, Keith “Zeke” Barnes, Darrell Barnes, and Odell Roe.
