David Clarence Lindsay

   David Clarence Lindsay, 67, of Vernon, died on Friday Dec. 5, 2014 in Vernon. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday Dec. 12, 2014 at the Lawton V.A. Cemetery in Lawton, Okla. Services are under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
   Lindsay was born Nov. 13, 1947 in Vernon to George and Lillie Lindsay. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1967 and served a tour of duty in Vietnam as a Field Artillery Operator and Intel Specialist. He received several medals throughout his tour and was ranked as a sharpshooter with the M14 rifle. He married Ricki Harp, daughter of Hubert and Doris Harp, on Nov. 20, 1970.
   He is survived by his wife, Ricki Harp of the home; two children, Gillian Lindsay of Vernon and Lucas Lindsay of Plano; two grandchildren; one sister, Sherry Keeler of Vernon, and one brother, Jerry Lindsay of  Duncan, Okla. He was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Nethery of Vernon.
   Memorials may be made to the Wilbarger County Humane Society.
