Coweta N. Lynch Engel-Crabtree

   QUANAH – Coweta N. Lynch Engel- Crabtree, 86, of Quanah, died in Crowell on Thursday, March 5, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at the Polytechnic Methodist Church, 1310 S. Collard Street, in Fort Worth. Private graveside services were held at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
   Engle-Crabtree was born to Byrd and Mattie Wilson Lynch in 1928 and lived in Quanah until moving to Fort Worth in1945. She attended Texas Wesleyan College where she met and married the late Clifford W. Engel.  He preceded her in death in 1995. After completing more than 50 years of service, she retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, receiving a perfect attendance commendation for never missing a day of work. She married Gene R. Crabtree in 2002 and returned to Quanah. He preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 2015.  She was a long time member of Polytechnic Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was active in the Order of Eastern Star, and the Social  Order of the Beauceant in Fort Worth. 
   She is survived by her daughter, Cathryn (Cathy) Engel Clark of Granbury;  her son, Wallace (Wally) Engel of Fort Worth, and one grandson;  Other survivors are Tina Edwards of Quanah, and Janet Dunn of Louisiana, daughters of  Gene Crabtree.
    Memorials may be made to: Polytechnic Methodist Church or a charity of choice.
