Dorthy Laverne Minshew

   Dorothy Laverne Minshew, 89, of Quanah, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015, in Vernon. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2105 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Joseph Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
   Dorothy was born Jan. 13, 1926 to the late Clyde and Carie Minshew in Quanah. She worked as a caregiver and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was very active in the First Baptist Church, singing in the choir, kept the candy bowl stocked, and did much record keeping for the church.
   She is survived by a sister-in-law, Loraine Minshew of Forney, and two nephews, David Minshew and Philip Minshew.
   Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Quanah Sack Lunch Program.
