Margie Streit
Graveside services for Margie Streit, 91 of Wichita Falls, formerly of Vernon, who died on Friday April 24, 2015 in Wichita Falls, will be held at 2 p.m., on Tuesday April 28, 2015 at Wilbarger Memorial Park with Pastor Curt Plaxco officiating. Services are under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Streit was born on Dec. 11, 1923 in Burkburnett. She was the daughter of the late Prior Lee (Jack) Ribble and the late Frances Dare Robinson Ribble. She married Karl (Frog) Streit on Aug. 15, 1942 in California. He preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 2009. She attended South Vernon schools and South Locket High School where she graduated as salutatorian and then attended TCU on a scholarship. She was an art teacher who taught private lessons and was a member of the Vernon Home Demonstration Club. She had lived in Vernon as a child and then lived at Medicine Mound for 20 plus years. She lived in Quanah until moving to Wichita Falls in 2010. She worked at the John Deere house in Quanah. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Quanah where she was a Sunday school teacher and was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Vernon. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are two daughters, Sarah Nicholas of Wichita Falls and Carol Taylor of Fort worth; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Streit, on Nov. 15, 2014, and a grandson Craig Nicholas.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until service time.
