Allen Lee Stringer

 

   Graveside services for Allen Lee Stringer, 68 of Vernon, who died on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015, in Wichita Falls, will be held Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015 at 2 p.m., at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Greg Johnson.
   Stringer was born Monday, Feb. 17, 1947 in Vernon. He was the son of the late Glen Stringer and the late Zeilia Williams Stringer. He married Sandra Beck on March 18, 1989 in Vernon. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was stationed in Germany with the 71st Artillery Division. He was a graduate of Vernon College Law Enforcement. He was a former police officer in Vernon, Lubbock County Sheriff’s Dept. and was Chief of Police in Whitney. He was a member of Vernon VFW. He was a member of the Church of God.
   He is survived by his wife, Sandra Beck Stringer of the home; one son, Judd Stringer of Cedar Park; one daughter, Carla Dye of Vernon; one brother, Donnie Stringer of Pauls Valley, Okla., and five grandchildren.
   Visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015 at 1 p.m., before service time at Sullivan Funeral Home.
   Memorials can be made to Vernon VFW or the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
