Howard Ray Atnip

   Funeral services for Howard Ray Atnip, 63, of Vernon, who died on Friday Oct. 2, 2015 in Vernon, will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015 at the Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Monte Lumpkin officiating and Jim Gunn as speaker. A Masonic graveside service will follow at Wilbarger Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
   Atnip was born on Feb. 25, 1952 in Vernon.  He was the son of the late Homer Howard Atnip and the late Bernell Bauman Atnip Marlow. He married Debra Finley on Sept. 2, 1972 in Paducah. He had graduated from Chillicothe High School and had attended Clarendon College. He had been a member of Masonic Lodge #565. He was a retired United Postal Service feeder driver. He had been a resident of Farmers Valley and Vernon all of his life. He was a Baptist.
   Surviving are his wife, Debra Atnip of the home; one son, Jason Riley Atnip of Arizona; one daughter, Sarah Jane Lehman of Paducah; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
   Family visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 5, 2015 at the funeral home.
   Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
   Pallbearers will be Mike Bauman, Jim Gunn, Steve Bradshaw, Billy Mayfield, Rookie Barnett and Ray Tucker.
