Bobby Keith Hanna

 

   Bobby Keith Hanna, 74 of Vernon, Texas died on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015, in Dallas, Texas.
   Services will be held Monday, Oct. 19, 2015 at 11 a.m., at the First Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Gib Baskerville. Interment will be held at 4 p.m. at Dreamland Cemetery in Turkey, Texas under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
   Bobby Keith Hanna was born to AJ “Buster and Gladys Young Hanna on Sunday, Aug. 31, 1941 in Turkey, Texas. He and his brother Dolan worked alongside his father on their cotton farm while growing up. He graduated from Turkey High School in 1959.
   He was a graduate of West Texas State University in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science Degree, He was a member of the 1960-1961 Buffalo Baseball Team where he played 3rd base; Member of the university Livestock Judging Team 1962-1963; He was a high Individual in Swine Judging at the 1963 Mid-South Contest in Memphis, Texas also high individual in Beef Cattle Judging at the International Livestock Show in Chicago, Ill. in 1963. He was a member of ATO Fraternity and a member of Black and Briales Animal Fraternity. He was voted Best Looking Man in 1963.
   Bobby worked for Amarillo Bi-City Health Dept. from 1965-1967. In 1967 he was employed by the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service working in Lubbock, Texas, Deming, N.M., Tahoka Texas and Vernon, Texas. After 36 dedicated years of service he retired in 2004.
   Bobby married his beloved wife Patricia Woodard on Aug. 18, 2001 in Vernon. Bobby and his wife Tricia are active members of the First Baptist Church in Vernon.
   In his retirement, Bobby has enjoyed spending time with classmates. He is blessed with five grandchildren and spent a great deal of time traveling all over to watch and support them in their various sporting events. Bobby was an avid sports fan.
   He is preceded in death by both of his parents; AJ “Buster” and Gladys Young Hanna and his only sibling, Dolan Hanna.
   He is survived by his wife, Patricia Hanna of Vernon; son Kevin Hanna and wife Michelle of Abilene, son Brandon Hanna and wife Shirra of Austin,  five grandchildren Cassidy, Cameron, Cason, Charlie and Sam, all of whom he lovingly adored.
  Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015 at Sullivan Funeral Home.
