QUANAH – Erlinda Fuentes Carrego, 64, formerly of Quanah, died on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, in Rosenberg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Philip Brembah officiating. Interment will follow at Goodlett Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Quanah.
Carrego was born Feb. 27, 1951 to the late Amado and Atatita (Nancy) Martinez Fuentes in Post. She married Frutoso (Frank) Carrego on Sept. 9, 1967 in Post. He preceded her in death in 2010. She was a retired caregiver and seamstress. She lived in Quanah for 40 years spending the last five years with her children in Rosenberg. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Altar Society.
She is survived by three daughters, Zerina Carrego of Rosenberg, Roxzy Carrego Lucio of Rosenberg, and Karla King of Quanah; one son, Daryl Carrego of Rosenberg; 10 grandchildren; three brothers, Amado Fuentes Jr., Nicaor Fuentes and Richard Fuentes; five sisters, Felicie Reyna, Virginia Bevers, Lupe Zamora, Carmen Abraham and Helvera Sanchez. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ramon Fuentes Sr., and San Antonio Fuentes.
A Rosary will be held at 7p.m. on Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at the Chapel at Smith Funeral Home.
