Pauline Alvine Schoppa

   Pauline Alvine Schoppa, 94, passed away Monday, Dec. 14, 2015 in Lubbock.  She was born Jan. 8, 1921 in Vernon, Texas to Paul and Louise Hempel Schur.
   Pauline graduated from Vernon High School in 1939 and married Sylvin Schoppa on Nov. 3, 1940.  Pauline and Sylvin moved east of Lubbock where they farmed until Sylvin’s retirement.  Pauline was also a beautician for 44 years. She was very active member of the Historic Redeemer Lutheran Church since 1941serving with the LWML, as a Sunday school teacher, in children’s programs and singing in the choir. Pauline was also active in a quilters guild.
   Survivors include her children, Sherilyn Schoppa Kunkel and Rodney Schoppa and his wife Susan; grandchildren, Craig Kunkel, Jennifer Castleberry and Lindsay Schoppa; great-grandchild Jessica Castleberry; brothers, Martin Schur and Arthur Schur; sister Donnie Kieschnick.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one sister.
   Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 18 at 10 a.m. in Historic Redeemer Lutheran Church followed by burial in Resthaven Memorial Park.
