QUANAH – Juanita Edmonds, 94, of Quanah, died on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016 in Lubbock. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016 at the Chillicothe Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Hollinshead officiating. Interment will be under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Quanah.
Edmonds was born Dec. 30, 1921 to the late Ed Gee and Tommye Hindman in Odell. She married J.W. Edmonds on Oct. 30, 1936 in Vernon. He preceded her in death in 1974. She was a member of the Nazarene Church of Quanah and served on the board for many years. She was also a member of the First Christian Church in Slaton. She was the owner/operator of the Village Flower Shop in Chillicothe and served on the Chillicothe City Council.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Edmonds of Burleson and Jimmy Edmonds of Iowa Park; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
Family visitation will be Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church.
