Marion P. Gentry

   Marion P. Gentry, 92, died on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016 in Crowell. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at Womack-Manard Funeral Home Chapel in Crowell. Officiating will be the Rev. Ron Fox of the Western Trail Cowboy Church. Interment will be in the Crowell Cemetery under the direction of Womack-Manard Funeral Home, Crowell.
   Marion Gentry was born on May 23, 1924 in Foard County. He married Ruth Janell McRae on Sept. 21, 1957 in Thalia. He was a lifetime resident of Crowell. He owned and operated Gentry’s Grocery and Hardware for numerous years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Crowell. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of the VFW.

   He is survived by one son, Dirk Gentry; two grandsons, Joey Gentry and wife, Heather, of Lubbock, and Steven Gentry and wife, Laurie Ann, of Fort Polk, La.; five great-grandchildren, and two brothers-in-law, Tommie McRae of Crowell and Bruce McRae of Denver, Colo.

   He was preceded in death by his wife on Nov. 28, 1998, and one brother-in-law, Danny McRae, on Dec. 18, 2015.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2016, at Womack-Manard Funeral Home.
