Lee Harmon Castleberry

   Lee passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016 in Vernon.
   Born in Levelland, Texas on Aug. 10, 1944 to Truman and Verna Lee (Asby) Castleberry, he grew up on the Pease River two miles north of Oklaunion, Texas. Lee was an Oklaunion Cardinal, graduating in 1962 with his lifelong friends. He attended Wayland Baptist University and graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Ag. Economics. He was a lifelong farmer and managed the Vernon office of the Federal Land Bank for many years. Lee was a longtime Sunday school teacher, who was devoted to Jesus Christ and to his family.
   Lee is survived by his sons, Shane Castleberry and wife Jennifer, Toby Castleberry and wife Carrie, and one daughter, Dr. Tarah Castleberry of Houston. Also grandkids, Emily, Truman, Sarah Jo, Kell and Will; one brother, Charles Castleberry and wife Phyllis of Lake Jackson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Judith Castleberry Judd, one niece Kathy Amend, and one nephew, Charles Kelly “Little Kelly” Castleberry.
   A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, Jan. 9, at the Calvary Baptist Church. Service will be officiated by Pastor Toby Castleberry. A celebration reception of homemade ice cream and cookies will follow the service.
   In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas offering at Calvary Baptist Church.
   Lee’s greatest hope is that you would join him in eternity through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
