VISD trustees hear support for adding soccer to athletics
A large crowd of public members were in attendance at Monday’s meeting of Vernon school trustees during which several community members addressed the board during a public forum session and called for the district to implement a UIL soccer program at the middle school and high school levels.
Meg Heatly spoke on behalf of the large number of youths and their parents in attendance at the meeting.
“These children are supportive of soccer and this support is clearly not going away,” she said.
