Lions receive All-State, All-District honors

Vernon Lions senior defensive lineman Marc Rodriguez was named Co-MVP for District 3 Class 4A Division II, it was announced this week.
Rodriguez shares the Co-MVP honors with Graham senior Chase Gilmore.
Vernon sophomore quarterback B.T. White was named to First-Team Offense along with senior tackle Truman Castleberry, sophomore running back Christian Ochoa and senior wide receiver Anthony Garza
Named to First-Team Defense were Castleberry as defensive end, junior cornerback Bryzon Austin and senior safety Tyler Reeves.
Named to Second-Team Offense were Vernon senior running back Demoray Watson and senior center Dalton Reagan, Sophomore outside linebacker Jacob Boatman was named to Second-Team Defense.

The Associated Press Class 4A All State team was announced on Tuesday.
There were just four players form District 3 recognized, and half came from Vernon.
The team is comprised from players from both Division 1 and Division 2.
Vernon’s Truman Castleberry and Marc Rodgriguez were named Honorable Mention as defensive linemen.
Castleberry, a senior, had 41 tackles, 18 TFL, and 9 sacks.
Rodriguez, also a senior, had 75 tackles, 18 TFL, 2 sacks, 3 INTS, 2 FF, and 2 defensive TDs.
Also from District 3, Iowa Park’s Jeremiah Stanley was honorable mention offensive lineman and Graham’s Garrison Stovall was 2nd team offensive lineman.
