Record-breaking day for WGH Foundation
Wilbarger General Hospital Foundation held its annual Charting the Course golf tournament on Saturday at Hillcrest Country Club. This year’s event raised $17,000 for the WGH Foundation, a record breaking year. The winning team, with a score of 56, included Ruben Vargas, Lauren Hagar, Brian Fritze, Kris Fritze, Ronnie Lucas and Nathan Mayo.
Wilbarger General Hospital Foundation held its annual Charting the Course golf tournament on Saturday at Hillcrest Country Club. This year’s event raised $17,000 for the WGH Foundation, a record breaking year. The tourney also had a record-breaking 16 teams enter, with several more on the waiting list.
The winning team, with a score of 56, included Ruben Vargas, Lauren Hagar, Brian Fritze, Kris Fritze, Ronnie Lucas and Nathan Mayo.
2nd place, with a score of 56, was the team of Thomas Barrells, Seth Barrells, Greg Clark, John Ackley, Tanner Barrells, Wes White.
3rd Place, with a score of 57, was Andy Hawkins, Kent Anderson, Caul Craighead, Taylor Craighead, Andrew Dickerson, Rich Dunn.
Closest to the Pin award went to Steve Osborne. Closest to the Crooked line went to Kari Young. Kelly Couch won the raffle for the Garmin watch
This year’s Charting the course was dedicated in memory Val Howard. The Howard family was present for the event and following the tournament, a special event was held on the #5 hole where participants lined up and hit a ball into the water in memory of Val (top photo).
