Lighted Christmas Parade planned for Dec. 12

The Lighted Christmas Parade sponsored by the Christmas Parade Committee will make its way through downtown beginning at 6 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 12, and registration for entries is currently being taken. There is no entry fee to enter the parade, and entries may include floats, cars, trucks, tractors, motorcycles, horse and carriage, golf carts, bands and others. Each entry must have some form of lighting and a completed application form.

Theme for this year’s parade is “Christmas,” and first and second place prizes will include: floats, first place, $300; second place, $200; best decorated vehicle, first, $100, second $50; golf cart, ATV/razor, first $100, second $50; motorcycle, tractor, semi-trucks, horse carriage, first 4100, second, $50.

Each entry will be judged on originality, effort, appearance overall, rules followed and lighting.

For safety reasons and city ordinance, no candy, gun, water balloons, water guns or any type of guns, toys, flyers, or promotional items can be thrown from any entry in the parade.
