Franklin “Jake” Henry Weiser

Franklin “Jake” Henry Weiser, 83 of Oklaunion,
Texas, died on Monday, Oct. 24, 2022, in Vernon,
Texas. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 29,
2022 at 10 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in
Harrold, Texas with Rev. Steven Brummett o൶ ciating.
Interment was held at Eastview Cemetery under the
direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Jake was born Friday, Aug. 25, 1939 in Schattel,
Texas. He was the son of the late Gottfried E. Weiser
and the late Frieda Anna Handrick Weiser.
He graduated from Giddings High School in
Giddings, Texas. He married Betty Schumann on Aug.
16, 1969 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harrold
Texas. In 1980 he moved to the Elliott community
from Giddings to resume the farming operation of his
father-in-law, John Schumann, who had retired.
Jake was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was a very active church
worker, singing in the choir, teaching Bible Class, serving on Board of Elders,
Board of Missions, Church Council, and Constitution Committee.
Jake is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Weiser of the home; his son,
Rodney Weiser and wife Katie of Spur, Texas; daughter, Monica Wilkinson of
Vernon, Texas; brothers, Robert Weiser and wife Betty of Yerington, Nv., and
Larry Weiser and wife Elaine of Giddings, Texas; sister, Mary Ann McCombs and
husband David of Giddings, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jake, Laney, Sami, Kylie,
Hazel, Allie, and Phoenix, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jake is preceded in death by his parents G.E. and Frieda Weiser, brother
Winifred Weiser, sister Ruth Markert and husband Calvin, and sister Carolyn
Galbreath and husband Gary.
Visitation was Friday, Oct. 28, 2022 at Sullivan Funeral Home.
