Sharron McNair Dickerson
Sharron McNair Dickerson passed away early
Tuesday morning, Nov. 29, 2022, at her home in
Quanah. A funeral service was planned for 2 p.m.,
Thursday, Dec. 1 at First United Methodist Church in
Quanah with Rev. Kay Atchison o ciating. Interment
followed at Quanah Memorial Park under direction of
Smith Funeral Home.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Nov. 30 at the
funeral home.
Sharron was born Nov. 7, 1942 in Fredonia,
Kansas, to the late Wayne Elmo McNair and Esther
Myrna Byars McNair. She married Weldon “Butch”
Dickerson on June 3, 1960 in Vernon, Texas. They
later made their home in Quanah and raised a son and
two daughters. Sharron taught the adult Sunday School
Class at First United Methodist Church and worked at
the Sears Store and Quanah Appliance until her retirement. She was very active in
the Historic Main Street Project, Hardeman County Museum, 1904 Club, Tuesday
at 2:00 Friends Co ee Group, and was a founding member of The Dickens
Christmas. She was a very talented painter and also enjoyed sewing.
Survivors include her son, Greg Dickerson and Mathis of Quanah, two
daughters, Sonya Richardson of Quanah and Kim Wiseman-Villegas of Wichita
Falls; two sisters, Denise Rhine and Dan of Denton, and Barbara Meador of
Frederick, Oklahoma; ve granddaughters: Julie Gresham and Je , Jordan Conley
and Clay, Carlee MacMillan and Brandon, Reagan Wiseman, and Laurel Wiseman;
ve great-grandchildren and Karter on the way. Sharron was preceded by her
husband, Butch, in 2017; and a grandson, Morgan McNair Dickerson, in 2003.
The family suggests that memorials be made to First United Methodist Church,
