Mary Lynn McNairy Robertson

Mary Lynn McNairy Robertson, 82, went to heaven
on Jan. 13, 2023.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023
at 10 a.m. at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel. Interment
was at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of
Sullivan Funeral Home.
Mary was born on Nov. 18, 1940 in Vernon to M.V.
and Allene Belle McNairy. Mary lived in Wilbarger
County all her life. She grew up in the Lockett
community and graduated from Lockett High School
in 1959.
Mary was married 34 years to Richard Newell and
they had three children, Lisa Kay Newell of Vernon,
Mike and wife Marion Newell of Vernon, and James
and wife Lisa Jean Newell of Canton, Oklahoma.
Mary raised her children on the family farm where
she was a homemaker and loved playing the piano. Mary loved God, her family, her
Central Christian Church, playing dominoes, and doing arts and crafts. She was an
accomplished sewer and an excellent baker-her specialty was homemade meringue
pies.
After raising her children, Mary worked at and retired from NTSH food service.
Mary later married Ronnie Robertson and together they enjoyed traveling and
gardening.
Mary was a ¿ ghter. She was a breast cancer survivor. She gracefully battled
Parkinson’s disease for the last 20 years of her life. She was a resident of Advanced
Care and Rehab Center where she played the piano often for the residents and could
paly almost anything from memory. She enjoyed playing dominoes and doing arts
and crafts, often drawing pictures and making cards for others.
In addition to her three children, Mary has seven grandchildren: Lyndsey (Craig)
Robinson of Hollis, Okla., Alison Payne of Vernon, Lauren (Shawn) Dodd of
Vernon, Callie Davis of Altus, Elizabeth (Cody) Noggler of Dumas, Caleb Newell
of Goodwell, Okla., and Sarah Newell of Archer City, Texas.
Mary also has 12 great-grandchildren: Tynslie, Thatcher, Coltier, Lexington,
Korbyn, Cole, Clyde, Lucy Kay, Creed, Kwhi, Krosby, and Henry. Mary has one
niece, Cecilia Anne Tandy and 3 nephews, Bobby, Bill, and Danny McNairy, who
are also very special to her.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, brother Bob McNairy, one niece Susan
Martinez, and one nephew Mark McNairy.
Visitation was Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Sullivan Funeral
Home.
As a breast cancer survivor, Mary was an avid supporter and participant of the
Wilbarger County Relay of Life. If family and friends are so inclined, memorials
can be made in Mary’s name to that organization.
