Luther Wesley “Critter” Chism, 80 of Decatur, Texas
passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024, in Dalhart, Texas.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 12, 2024, at 11
a.m. at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phillip
Weitner officiating. Burial will follow at Wilbarger
Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral
Home.
Wesley was born Thursday, July 8, 1943, in Crowell,
Texas. He was the son of the late Luther Chism and the late
Ida Lee Thomas Chism. Wesley grew up farming and
worked for the Karcher family. He worked for Wright Brand
Foods for seventeen years, and then later for Ray Cannedy
Security in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Wesley is survived by one son, John Thomas Chism of Whitesboro, Texas; three
daughters, Faith Roberts of Vernon, Texas, Hope Biddy of Mangum, Oklahoma and
Charity Chism of Bridgeport, Texas, and one sister, Barbara Webb of Dalhart, Texas.
Wesley also leaves behind eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Wesley is preceded in death by two sons, twins, Wesley and Leslie Chism, and six
brothers, J. T., Cletus, Charles, Q. D., Weldon, and Roy.
Visitation will be Friday, April 12, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Sullivan
Funeral Home.
