Dr. Robert H Borchardt, Jr.
Dr. Robert H Borchardt, Jr., 79 of Vernon, Texas passed
away on Friday, Aug. 16, 2024, in Vernon, Texas.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024,
at 11 a.m., at First
Methodist Church with Rev. Anthony
Inman officiating under the direction of Sullivan Funeral
Home.
Robert was born Tuesday, Sept. 5, 1944, in Vernon, Texas
to the late Robert H. Borchardt, Sr. and the late Ila Lovelady
Borchardt. Robert married Tina Willmann on May 27, 1978,
in Mineral Wells, Texas. Robert graduated from the
University of Oklahoma with a bachelor’s degree in 1967.
He then went on to the University of Texas Medical Branch
in Galveston, Texas and became a Doctor of Medicine in 1970. Robert did his
residency program in a family practice in Wichita, Kansas from 1970-1973. Robert
then came home to Vernon, Texas where he opened his own family practice in July
of 1973. Robert was a lifetime member of the Texas Academy of Family
Physicians, A member of American Academy of Family Medicine, a member of
Texas Medical Association Board Certified in Family Practice for thirty years. He
held offices and served on committees in Texas Academy of Family Physicians,
Wilbarger County Cancer Board, Wilbarger County Health Officer, Vernon College
Physician, Wilbarger County Jail Physician and past Wilbarger General Hospital
Medical President. Robert and his family were members of the First Methodist
Church, where he was active in the Challenger Sunday School Class. Robert
enjoyed spending time with his family, whether it was on a trip or watching a
sporting event, especially with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Robert leaves behind his wife, Tina Borchardt of the home, two sons, Rob
Borchardt and Andy Borchardt and wife Julie, two daughters Laura Borchardt and
Lindsey Davie and husband Jason. Robert’s grandchildren, Cody Borchardt and
wife Christen, Kasey Beiting and husband Patrick, Sarah Worrell and husband
Chuck, Cade Borchardt, Chase Borchardt, Lucas Davie and Lane Davie, two great
grandchildren, Rosie Worrell and Clara Beiting. Robert also leaves behind one sister
Judy Bond and husband Tom.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024, at 10 a.m., at First Methodist
Church.
