Vernon College Trustees looking into apartment complex mystery
The Vernon College Board of Trustees voted to authorize President Dusty Johnston to spend up to $10,000 in legal fees to examine the tax exempt status of Madison Crossing apartments during a regular business meeting Nov. 13.
Board President Bob Ferguson began the discussion regarding Madison Crossing, saying that he did not understand why Madison Crossing remains free from paying property taxes.
Johnston told the board that once the motion was passed he would contact legal representation and and see if they can help the college get to the bottom of the ongoing tax exemption.
More from the College trustees meeting is in this week’s print and online editions.
