Ronald Gordon Cox

Ronald Gordon Cox, 81 of Vernon, Texas passed away on
Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026, in Vernon, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 12,
2026, at Lakeview Church with Pastor Daniel Robertson and
Pastor Clint Loggins o൶ ciating. Burial will follow at Eastview
Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Ronald was born Tuesday, Nov. 7, 1944, in Vernon, Texas.
He was the son of the late Fred Leon Cox and the late Virginia
Mason Cox. He married Sandra Shank on Nov. 24, 1977,
in Houston, Texas. He worked at Vernon Foods and United
Supermarket in Wichita Falls, and he was a district manager
for an insurance company. He worked sixteen years for North Texas State Hospital
and then at Victory Field Corrections. At the age of seventy-¿ ve he learned to drive

a train with BNSF so he could dump coal. He won a safety award for his work.
Ronald loved ¿ shing, art, drawing people, and doing leather work, but above all, he
loved the Lord. He was an ordained minister and a member of Lakeview Church.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Sandra Cox of the home, his son, Tragene
Bristo and wife Sandy of La Mesa, CA, his daughter, Gena Bristo of Vernon, TX,
and his brother Mike Cox of Fort Worth, TX. Ronald also leaves behind three
grandchildren, Kelley, Joshua & wife Larissa and Rachel.
Ronald is preceded in death by his brother Ralph Leon Cox, Sr., his daughter,
Angel Graham and his grandsons, Dustin Plyler and Ryan Johnson.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, at Sullivan
Funeral Home.
