Harrold, Northside softball players recognized

 

Class A high school softball players from Wilbarger County have received postseason honors for the recently completed spring season.

Northside’s Lily Beam was named Newcomer of the Year, after batting .566 from the plate, with 13 doubles, three homeruns, 27 stolen bases, and scored a team-best 39 runs. First team all-district honors went to Northside’s Jimena Bustamante, Mylee Greening, and Addi Reed.  Reed had a .566 batting average. Greening had a team best .569 batting average with three triples. Bustamante hit .455 on the season.

Lady Indians Lily Beam, Brooklyn Bradford, Kourtnie Guerra and Addi Reed were named Academic All District.

Harrold’s Jaylee Lowe, Emma Box, and Mylie Maness were named to the Texas coaches Association all-state team.  Lowe was also selected as a first team All State for 1A by the Texas Sportswriters Association. The Vernon Record is a member of the association. Lowe had an ERA of 1.42 while pitching 123.1 innings this season. She also had 31 stolen bases, a .731 batting average, a team-high 36 RBIs with 5 homeruns and 7 triples. Box had a .508 batting average and Maness had a .500 average. Maness scored 39 runs and belted three homeruns.

Harrold senior Madison Parker was named TGCA Academic All State.
