Guthrie 61, Chillicothe 12
The Chillicothe Eagles hosted the Guthrie Jaguars at Moffett-Dodson Stadium in District 7-1A, DII play. It was homecoming for Chillicothe but the visitors got the 61-12 win. Leading 55-12 in the third quarter, the Jaguars marched the field for the game-ending score with just over 7 minutes left in the quarter.
Guthrie moves to 1-1 in district and Chillicothe falls to 0-2. Chillicothe is at Benjamin this week.
Crowell 48, Harrold 0
The Crowell Wildcats defeated the Harrold Hornets in District 7-1A, DII action last Friday 48-0 at Dick Todd Field.
Crowell recovered an onside kick to open the game and scored on the first possession off an Angel Escalante TD run for a 6-0 lead. Escalante scored on the next Wildcat possession with a 58-yard run with 6:38 left in the first quarter for a 14-0 lead. After a turnover on downs, Daniel Rodriguez raced in for a 25-yard score with 5:17 left in the first quarter. The Hornets drove inside the Wildcats 10, but Ty Halsell returned an interception 80-yards for a score to make it 26-0.
Rodriguez scored three TDs with 64 yards rushing. Escalante had 2 TDs with 108 yards rushing. The Wildcats went on to the 48-0 win as Crowell moved to 1-0 in district and the Hornets fall to 1-1.
Harrold has a bye this week. Crowell is at Guthrie with a potential playoff berth on the line.
