Maxie Fred McLaughlin

Maxie Fred McLaughlin, 64 of Vernon, Texas passed

away on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Funeral services was held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 17,
2024, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Toby Castleberry
officiating. Burial followed at Wilbarger Memorial Park
under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Maxie was born Wednesday, July 13, 1960, in Vernon,
Texas. He was the son of the late Jack McLaughlin and
Grace Lynn McLaughlin. Maxie loved the Dallas Cowboys,
and he took a lot of pride in his yard. He was straight
forward, and he was very particular and precise about life.
He loved his job as a Security Guard at the North Texas
State Hospital which he took a lot of pride in doing. Maxie loved his family,
especially his grandchildren. He attended Calvary Baptist Church.
Maxie is survived by his significant other, Nancy Roberts of Vernon, Texas; three
children, Tiffany Scates & husband Cedric of Union City, Tennessee, Jacob
McLaughlin of Vernon, Texas, and Savannah Ford & husband Travis of Vernon,
Texas, and eleven grandchildren, Aubrey, Jaiden, Julia, Corban, Colt, Jaxton, Jase,
Carter, Jonas, Cooper, and Collin. Maxie also leaves behind his mother, Grace
McLaughlin of Vernon, Texas, and five siblings, Susan Wilson & husband, the late
Ronnie Wilson of Vernon, Texas, Kimmy Edwards & husband James of Vernon,
Texas, Jackie Woody & husband Roger of Whitney, Texas, Bea Theriot & husband
Patrick of Vernon, Texas, and Jay McLaughlin & wife Deborah of Vernon, Texas,
along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Maxie is preceded in death by his father, Jack McLaughlin and by his brother,
Jack Dale McLaughlin.
Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, at Sullivan
Funeral Home.
