Wilbarger General Hospital board to consider three resignations, replacements

The Wilbarger County Hospital District board will consider accepting three board members’ resignations and appointing replacements when it meets Oct. 1.

The meeting is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. in the conference room at Wilbarger General Hospital, 920 Hillcrest Drive in Vernon.

The agenda lists separate actions to accept resignations for Places 2, 4 and 5, consider nominations to complete the remaining terms and appoint new members to those seats.

The appointments would be followed by administration of the oath of office, election of officers and committee appointments.

The agenda, filed Sept. 25 with the Wilbarger County clerk’s office, does not identify name potential replacements for resigning directors.

Board members also are scheduled to hear reports from the hospital’s chief executive officer, chief financial officer and chief nursing officer, along with an Ovation Healthcare update. The chief financial officer’s report includes a financial summary.

Other business includes review and approval of Finance Committee recommendations and consideration of updates to signature cards for Waggoner National Bank, Herring Bank and Bank of the West. The agenda does not detail the committee’s recommendations.

The meeting includes a public comment period and consideration of the Sept. 3 regular meeting minutes through the consent agenda.

A medical staff report is scheduled in executive session and includes a quarterly quality and compliance update.

A separate executive session lists personnel matters, real property negotiations, economic development negotiations and deliberations involving certain providers of health care services, with employee benefits specifically listed.

The board is scheduled to reconvene in open session for possible action on matters discussed behind closed doors.
