Clifford Calvin McDonald

   Clifford Calvin McDonald, 86 of Vernon, died on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, in Vernon.
   Clifford was born Monday, Aug. 1, 1927 in Colquitt, Ga.  He was the son of the late Aubrey McDonald and the late Evelyn Rawls McDonald. He had lived in Vernon since 1973. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years, retiring in 1973 as Senior Master Sgt., NCOIC of Medical Supply, serving in the Korea War, Japan and Turkey. He received his R.N. degree from Midwestern State University. He worked for North Texas State Hospital night shift supervisor. He was a member of Masonic Lodge, Master Mason,  in Chillicothe.
   He is survived by his son, Gregory McDonald and wife Terry of Rusk; his daughter, Gina Ellington and husband Roland of Vernon; one brother, Carl McDonald of Warm Springs, Ga.; nine grandchildren, Jeffery Kemp and wife Vera,  Tony Kemp and wife Ashleigh,  Lacy Money, Colton King and wife Katlyn, Kristin Ellington Cook and husband Cody, Kyle Ellington, Cody Ellington, Rhain McDonald, Carrie McDonald; 10 great-grandchildren,  Andrew Kemp, Travis Kemp,  Joshua Kemp, Adeline Seville, Chloe King, Jordan Rivas, Trey Rivas, Calvin Kemp, Mayzie Kemp and Cooper Quillen.
   He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Kemp in 2009, and a sister and one brother.
   Private family service will be held at a later date in Georgia.
