Jamees C. Hamilton
SEYMOUR – James C. Hamilton, 72, died on Monday, March 3, 2014. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5 at the First Baptist Church in Vernon. Burial of ashes will be at Long Branch Cemetery in Nocona.
Hamilton was a long time math instructor at Vernon College, retiring in January of 2014. He was owner of the Herring Coffee Shop in the Herring Bank building in Vernon for many years. Hamilton also taught math at Seymour High School for seven years.
He is survived by his wife, Nita Hamilton; one son, Scott Hamilton of Nocona; one daughter, Lara Graves of Hillsboro Beach, Fla.; one step-son, Scott Stone of Merkel; eight grandchildren, and one sister, Mary Kennemer of Venus, Texas.
