Ray Edgar Andrus
QUANAH – Ray Edgar Andrus, 74, of Quanah, died on Sunday, March 16, 2014 in Quanah. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the First Baptist Church with Rayford Walker and Rev. Joseph Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Goodlett Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Andrus was born Dec. 14, 1939 to the late Joe and Audrey McCagg Andrus.He married Marijo Andrus on Oct. 22, 1977 in Omaha, Neb. He served 12 years in the United States Navy and 10 years in the Air Force as a computer maintenance operator supervisor. He attended the First Baptist Church and the Couples Sunday School Class. He was the former owner and operator of Ray’s Discount Tobacco. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and the Century Car Club and was an avid gun collector.
He is survived by his wife, Marijo Andrus of Quanah; one son, Ray Andrus Jr. of Beaumont; three daughters, Candace Akins of Omaha, Neb., Sandra Andrus Romero of Vidor and Randa Betts of Olney; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2014 at Smith Funeral Home.
