William Ritchie

   QUANAH –  William Ritchie, 68, of Quanah, died on Sunday, April 20, 2014 in Quanah. Fun eral services will be held at 2 pm Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the First Christian Church with Rev. Wayne Hollinshead officiating. Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Quanah.
   Ritchie was born July 7, 1945 to the late David and Onita Hinsley Ritchie. He married Wanda Keith June 8, 1974 in Burleson.  He was a machinist and rancher. He was a resident of Quanah and Fort Worth. He served in the United States Army. He loved riding horses. He was a roper, team roper and an avid pool player. He was a member of the Nazarene Church.
   He is survived by his wife,  Wanda Ritchie, Quanah,; four daughters,  Sharon Maldonado, Quanah, Twilla Ritchie, Grandview, Patricia Ritchie, Tulsa, Okla., and Onita Shepard, Enid, Okla.; two sons, Richard William Ritchie Jr., Fairview, Okla., and David William Ritchie, Fort Worth; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Edith Lanning and Brenda Walters, both of Quanah. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
   Family visitation will be Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Smith Funeral Home.
   The family has requested memorials be sent to the American Lung Association.
