Lavoyce Shook
Lavoyce Shook, 91, beloved mother, Nanny, and “Old Nanny,” passed away peacefully May 13, 2014 surrounded by family.
Visitation is May 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Womack-Manard Funeral Home in Crowell, and graveside services will be Friday, May 16, at 10 a.m. at the Crowell Cemetery.
Lavoyce was a longtime resident of Crowell, a member of the First United Methodist Church and very active in the community there. She worked at the gin and elevator for many years. She and Glen retired and moved to Wichita Falls in 1981 where they became parents, grandparents, friends, and neighbors to everyone they met. Both were active in the Senior Citizen Center there and enjoyed gardening, 42 night with friends and neighbors and many other activities.
Lavoyce was preceded in death by her parents, F.R. and Charlie Lee Lefevre; a brother, Fate McDougle, and husband Glen, who passed away in 1988. She is survived by two sons, Stan and wife Jan of Bastrop, Texas, and Jim and wife Chris of Alvarado, Texas; four grandchildren: Nicole and husband Drew Shadoian of Bastrop, Cody Shook and wife Melissa of Mansfield, Texas, Zane Shook and wife Megan of Forney, Texas, and Lin Shook of Stephenville, Texas. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Harper, Will and Cruze Shook. She was truly loved and adored by all of us and will be missed.
Memorials, if preferred, may be made to a charity of choice, or some of her favorites were: Veterans Memorial of Foard County, Crowell Cemetery Association, local Humane Society, or First United Methodist Church Youth groups.
