Janice Hord
CROWELL – Janice Hord, 63, of Crowell, died on Sunday, June 15, 2014 in Crowell. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in the First United Methodist Church in Crowell with the Rev. Damon Stalvey, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Crowell Cemetery.
Hord was born on Dec. 13, 1950 in Crowell, a daughter of the late Byron Fred and Elizabeth (Bette) Ann Fergurson Gray. She married Billy Brent Hord Jr., on Nov. 28, 1969 in Thalia. She attended the Thalia Elementary School and Crowell Elementary School and was a 1969 graduate of Crowell High School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Crowell. She received a bachelor of science degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock and attended Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls. She was a member of the Child Welfare Board of Directors for Foard County. She retired from the Department of Protective and Regulatory Services, after 20 years.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Hord of Crowell; two daughters, Stephanie Turkett of Vernon and Sarah Hord of Crowell; one son, Bubba Hord of Crowell; four sisters, Beverlie Ann Gray of Vernon, Janell Lee Manard of Crowell, Janet Claire Gray of Abilene and Sherrie Diane Jones of Lubbock; one brother, Fred Gray Jr. of Thalia, and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Womack-Manard Funeral Home, Crowell.
