QUANAH – Michael W. Greening, 65, of Quanah, died on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, in Vernon. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Crowell Cemetery with Rev. Monte Lumpkin officiating. Interment under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Quanah.
Greening was born June 14, 1949 to Wayne Greening and the late Virginia Musgrove in Quanah. He was raised in Quanah, graduating from Quanah High School in 1967. He earned a business degree from Angel State University in 1971. He held various managerial positions for Kmart and other retailers. He worked for Allsup’s in Hobbs, N.M., for 15 years. He was a member of the Baptist Church and enjoyed playing golf.
He is survived by: his father, Wayne Greening, Quanah; stepmother, Milly Greening of Quanah; one sister, Ann Kirksey of Azle; two nieces and four great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Greening.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday at Smith Funeral Home.
The family has requested memorials be sent to First Baptist Church Quanah.
