Joyce Gant

   Joyce Gant, 77 of Vernon, died on Thursday, July 10, 2014, in Vernon. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, July 14, 2014 at Bell Cemetery, Odell. Officiating will be the Rev. Wallace Clay. Interment will be under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
   Gant was born Tuesday, May 4, 1937 in Vernon. She was the daughter of the late Lewis Willard Adams and the late Doris Marie Henson Adams. She married Arley F. Gant II in 1955. He preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1998. She had lived all of her life in Wilbarger County and Odell. She worked for Vernon Care Center and Woods Nursing Home for 38 years as a medication nurse. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
   She is survived by two brothers, Randy Adams and Gary Adams, both of Vernon, and four sisters, Rita Hopper of Vernon, Linda McPeak of Vernon, Sherry Parker of Houma, La., and Peggy Hoke of California. She was preceded in death by a son, Arley F. (Butch) Gant III; a sister, Wanda Lou Fennell, and five brothers, Tony, Ricky, John, Bob and Layton (Bud) Adams.
   Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m., until service time on Monday, July 11, 2014 at Sullivan Funeral Home.
