Jerry B. Daniel

   QUANAH – Jerry B. Daniel, 76, of Quanah, passed away, Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014 in Vernon. Services will be held at 11a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014 at the Chapel at Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Elder officiating. Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Quanah.
   Mr. Daniel was born on June 5, 1938 to the late Clovis Sr. and Mattie Tyner Daniel in Lincoln, Okla. He was a graduate of Quanah High School. He worked for Plains Creamery in Amarillo and retired from Georgia Pacific in Acme. He loved Gene Watson music.  He loved his family more than anything.

   He is survived by his lifelong friend and mother of his three children: Evelyn Daniel; two daughters, Carla Branin and husband Glynn of Vernon, and Kathy Lee of LaMarque; two grandsons, Joe Daniel Adams and wife, Harli, of Vernon and Jerry Kale Adams of Vernon; two granddaughters, Kye Whitney Johnson and husband Jerrod, of Vernon, and Amanda Michelle Davis of, LaMarque; one brother, Clovis Daniel Jr. of Quanah;  nephews, Jim Daniel, Danny Tigert, and Randy Tigert; nieces,  Cary Jo Daniel and Angela Daniel Tharp, and two great-granddaughters, Kylan Kaye Raymos and Saydi Raelyn Adams.

   He was preceded in death by his mother and father; a daughter, Christy Poindexter in 2012; a brother, Jimmie Daniel in 1999; a sister, Melba Tigert Crabtree in 2000, and two nieces.

   Family visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday at Smith Funeral Home in Quanah.

   The family has requested memorials be sent to American Diabetes Association and Kidney Foundation.
