Ronald Lee (Ronnie) Rogers
Funeral services for former Vernon resident, Ronald Lee (Ronnie) Rogers, 55, of Lubbock, who died on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014 in Lubbock, will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Tipton, Okla. with the Rev. Kolby Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in the Tipton Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick., Okla.
Rogers was born on July 15, 1959 in Frederick, Okla., to Donald Lewis and Lois Fern (Nunley) Rogers. He attended Tipton schools and graduated from Tipton High School in 1977. He had served in the United States Navy. He married Kimberly Kay Lawson on Feb. 18, 1989 in Tipton, Okla. He had worked for Southwest Rural Electric as a lineman for several years. He enjoyed fishing as well as all sports. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vernon.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Rogers of the home; his mother, Lois Rogers of Altus, Okla.; two sons, Tyler Rogers of Los Angeles, Calif. and Kolby Rogers of Lubbock; one daughter, Kaylee Rogers of Lubbock; one brother, Jerry Rogers of Frederick, Okla.; two sisters, Cindy Wofford and Debra Robbins, both of Manitou; one granddaughter and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Rogers, and grandparents, Hardy and Florence Rogers, Carl and Pearl Nunley and Blanchard Russell.
