Guadalupe Garcia, 80 of Vernon, died on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, in Vernon. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 5, 2014 at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Guadalupe was born Tuesday, Jan. 30, 1934 in Edinburg, Texas. He was the son of the late Ralph Garcia and the late Sophia Isaquire Garcia. He married Caroline Rodriquez on Nov. 22, 1953 in Plainview. He had lived in Vernon since October of 1989. He worked as a custodian at the Texas A&M Research Center. He attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
He is survived by four daughters, Mary Hipolito and husband, Felix, of Plainview; Margaret Morales and husband, Ricky, of Vernon; Victoria Villegas and husband, Mark, Sr., of Vernon, and Lupe Inglish and husband, Rick, of Vernon; two sons, Joe Garcia and wife, Lauri, of Crowell, and Jessie Barbosa of Greeley, Colo.; one sister, Mary Reyna of Hart; 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Nicholas Garcia, and Jose “Pale” Isaguire; three sisters, Leonor Chia, Maria DeLaO and Elisa Juanita Solis; a granddaughter, Amy Lynn Garcia, and a nephew, Santos Solis III.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014 at Sullivan Funeral Home.
Memorials can be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls or a favorite charity.
Pallbearers will be Mario Lino Garcia, Jeff Swink, Nick Moralez, Mark Villegas, Jr., Rog Rodriquez, and Jason Banister.
