Shyla Brehm

   Funeral services for Shyla (Carr) Brehm, 35, of Whitesboro, who died on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014 in Grapevine, will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014 in the First Church of God, officiated by Rev. Roy Dobbs.  Interment will be in the Arapaho Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
   Brehm was born Jan. 19, 1979 to Ray Carlton Carr and Rita MarLynn (O’Dell) Carr in Thomas, Okla. She had just returned from a trip to Africa where she had climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro when she died. Brehm
   started to school in Gotebo, Okla. Her family moved back to Arapaho , where she was a star athlete on the Lady Indian basketball team, member of the senior academic team, president of FHA and a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She married Jason Brehm on July 25, 1998 in Clinton, OKla. She continued her education at Redlands College in El Reno, Okla., and received her Registered Nurses Degree.
   She is survived by her husband, Jason, and two sons, Carson David Brehm and Caden Aaron Brehm of the home; her parents, Ray and Rita Carr of Vernon;  sisters, Kerrastan Carr Cortez and Kelsey Carr Davis of Howe, TX;  paternal grandparents, W.C. and Lucille Carr of Vernon,  a niece, aunts,  uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Boyd and Deloris O’Dell, and an uncle, David Wayne Carr.
