Henry Lee Booker, Jr., 68 of Vernon, died on Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, Oklahoma City, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 22, 2014 at New Hope Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. S.B. Jackson of Dallas. Interment will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014 at the Lawton V.A. Cemetery in Lawton, Okla. Services are under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Booker was born Tuesday, Aug. 6, 1946 in Crowell. He was the son of the late Henry Lee Booker, Sr. and the late Mary Lee Booker. He married Mary Ford on Nov. 11, 1994 in Vernon. He served in the U.S. Marines Corps., serving in Vietnam for four years. He was a truck driver and a driver for TX N.M. & Okla. Greyhound Bus Lines. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where he served as associate pastor.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Booker of the home; six sons, Clifford Booker, Derrick Booker, Marcus Phillips, Robert Jefferson, Charles Jefferson and Henry Lee Booker, III; four daughters, Felicia Booker, Wanda Booker, Schantell Booker and Anna McDavid Booker; two sisters, Sally Sue Green and Rose Alexander; 25 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Eric Booker.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014 at Sullivan Funeral Home.
