Larry Dale Rozzell
Funeral services for Larry Dale Rozzell, 76, of Duncan will be at Parkview Baptist Church in Duncan on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Steven Gillispie officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014.
Larry Rozzell passed away Wednesday morning, Nov. 5, 2014 at Country Club Care in Duncan surrounded by his family. Larry Dale Rozzell was born on Aug. 6, 1938 in Fox, Okla. to Cecil Dewey Rozzell and Annie (Skinner) Rozzell. Larry lived most of his life in Vernon, Texas. After graduating from Vernon High School, he went on to work as a butcher for several grocery store chains and family run grocery stores before opening up his own grocery store. Before retiring he worked at the Stephens County Court House for 10 years. On March 29, 1957 in Vernon, Texas, Larry married his high school sweetheart, Aydean Spradlin. Larry was a member and a Deacon at the Parkview Baptist Church in Duncan. Larry was an avid OU fan, and he loved to play golf when his health allowed him to. He particularly loved to spend time with his family and participating in and photographing family activities and in the friendly OU and OSU rivalries with his children and grandchildren.
Larry is preceded in death by his two brothers, Max Rozzell and Melvin Rozzell; a sister, Imogene Beck; and his parents, Cecil and Annie Rozzell.
Those left to cherish Larry’s memory are his wife of 57 years, Aydean Rozzell of the home; daughters, Sue Logsdon of Duncan, Sherri Branch and her husband Ricky of Duncan; grandchildren, Joshua Branch and his wife Melissa of Duncan, Ryan Logsdon of Duncan, Meredith Crowder and her husband Kyle of Newcastle, Okla.; and four great granddaughters, Rylee and Reece Branch, Emma and Elise Crowder.
Pallbearers for the service will be Joshua Branch, Ryan Logsdon, Dick Fennel, Russell Lairson, Larry Culberson, and Eric Troutman. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Parkview Baptist Church and Kyle Crowder.
