June Opal Garrett Carroll
June Opal Garrett Carroll, 94 of Crowell, died on Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, at her home in Crowell. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Crowell. Officiating will be Rev. Chris McLain. Interment will be held at Crowell Cemetery under the direction of Womack-Manard Funeral Home.
June was born Monday, May 17, 1920 in Monkstown, Texas. She was the daughter of the late J.A. Garrett and the late Annie Dudley Garrett. She married Milburn Carroll on May 13, 1941 in Crowell. He preceded her in death in 2002. She attended Gambleville and Crowell Schools and graduated from Crowell High School in May of 1939. She was a former member of the Gambleville Home Demonstration Club, a Cub Scout mother, and a member of the Farm Bureau & Farmers Coop Elevator. She was a farmer and raised red limousine cattle with her late husband, Milburn, and son, Junior. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Crowell and Ester Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her daughter, Marcia Elaine Carroll of Austin; her son, Milburn Carroll, Jr. & and wife Veronica of Crowell; four granddaughters, Monica Lane and husband Rick of Austin, Heather Dickerson and husband Bill of Cedar Park, Lexia Maclaren and husband Mac of Buda, Texas; Jennifer McNabb and husband Derek of Shamrock; two grandsons, Trey Carroll of Pampa, and Brent Carroll and wife Mindy of Pampa, and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milburn Carroll; parents, J.A. and Annie Dudley Garrett; one sister, Frances Andrews, and four brothers, Willie, Sidney, Clarence and Vernon Garrett. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carolyn Carroll.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014 at Womack-Manard Funeral Home in Crowell.
